Today, January 18th, there is again a Google Doodle on the German start page, under the topic “Corona vaccination near me“, which is both displayed and presented with search results. It’s part of a long doodle series that started well over a year ago and keeps coming up with new “tips” for dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.
The Google doodle for vaccination against the corona virus is in the same style as the numerous doodles in the past year: each letter of the lettering stands for a person. But instead of showing systemically relevant professions, keeping your distance or wearing a mask, this time it’s about the coronavirus vaccination. The first four letters are already on the patch and in the doodle you can see how the letter ‘l’ has evolved from little Dr. ‘e’ get vaccinated. Not much needs to be said about the background of the doodle, because it’s mainly about motivating people to vaccinate – whether it’s the first, second or third stitch. The quick text also mentions that people should continue to wear the mask to save lives. There is no longer any talk of keeping your distance, although this is certainly still advisable in many countries, depending on the region. Let’s just hope that this doodle series will come to an end soon and won’t have to be shown on the international homepages for too long. These Doodles have been shown at irregular intervals in some countries for months and were last seen in Germany in early August, late September and mid-December. This time it contains the prompt “get vaccinated wear a mask save life”
